About the Song
“Sidomina” is one of AWU’s defining early records and an important song in the development of his career as a solo artist. Originally released as an audio track in 2017, the song gained further visibility with its official music video in 2018 and later expanded its reach through a remix featuring renowned Cameroonian rapper Stanley Enow.
The song stands out for its energetic delivery, catchy concept and romantic theme, presenting AWU in a playful and expressive mood. Its distinctive sound and memorable hook helped establish “Sidomina” as one of the records most closely associated with AWU’s early catalogue.
Story and Meaning
“Sidomina” is built around the excitement and intensity of romantic attraction. AWU uses an energetic and playful approach to express the powerful effect that love and affection can have on someone.
The song combines romance with humor, confidence and exaggeration, creating a lively interpretation of being deeply attracted to someone. Rather than presenting love as a quiet or purely sentimental experience, AWU turns it into an energetic celebration filled with personality and movement.
The infectious nature of the song helped “Sidomina” connect with audiences and contributed to its reputation as one of AWU’s standout records from this period. Contemporary coverage described it as a club-oriented hit that received strong audience response.
Official Music Video
The official “Sidomina” music video was published on AWU’s official YouTube channel on March 9, 2018. The video was directed by Adah Akenji, who also became involved in the visual production of the subsequent remix.
The release of the video helped bring a visual dimension to the song and strengthened its presence among AWU’s growing audience. It became part of a period in which AWU was building recognition through a series of increasingly visible releases.
Sidomina Remix Featuring Stanley Enow
The success and appeal of “Sidomina” eventually led to a major remix featuring Stanley Enow. According to AWU, Stanley had heard the original song, liked it and personally expressed interest in contributing to a remix. The two artists later connected around the collaboration during a Kia Motors business meeting in 2018, where Stanley discussed the song and proposed working on it.
The “Sidomina Remix” was officially released on August 5, 2018 under Plaza Music. The collaboration brought together AWU’s melodic approach and Stanley Enow’s rap-driven energy, giving the song a new dimension while preserving the identity of the original. Apple Music lists the remix as a one-track single released on August 5, 2018.
The official remix video was directed by Adah Akenji and published through AWU’s official artist channel.
A Defining AWU Record
“Sidomina” remains an important part of AWU’s musical story because it captures a period when his catalogue was beginning to gain wider recognition. The song’s success also created an opportunity for collaboration with one of Cameroon’s most recognized urban artists, further increasing its reach.
The original song and Stanley Enow remix together represent an important chapter in AWU’s evolution from an emerging Cameroonian singer into an increasingly recognized recording artist. Later profiles of AWU specifically identify “Sidomina” and “Sidomina Remix” among the songs that contributed to his growing recognition.
